On a more positive note, the first sunflower is opening and the first husks of sweetcorn are forming. I am so excited about growing sweetcorn, it is definitely my favourite crop this year and I hope we get an edible harvest.

Allotment flooding and new growth
The rain was better for the children than for the allotment today! I went down tonight to water the tomatoes and couldn't get near the greenhouse due to flooded paths... the new courgettes were under water and the pea rows were sitting in a pond! I hope it drains away quickly.
