We just got back today from our first family holiday abroad! We went to Menorca for a week and all had a thoroughly superb time. All the travel went smoothly and the flight was only 2.5 hours from Newcastle. We made it easy for ourselves with an all-inclusive resort hotel with lots of activities and a very big pool and it fulfilled our expectations. It has been so nice not cooking all week, although I will be pleased to not need to cover us all in suncream in the morning!
We visited the local beach a couple of times and the harbour.
But most of our time was spent around the pool, which the boys loved! They couldn't wait to get there after breakfast every day. Harry really got into all the activities too and went to four kids club sessions on his own to do golf, archery, potion making and splash games, as well as joining in with activities around the pool and in the evening. I was really impressed with the activity staff; they were all young English people who had endless enthusiasm and energy and remembered the names of the children.
We were all sad to come home this morning but it is nice to be back now we are and we will be taking it easy until Monday, to allow everyone to recover. It has been a great experience all round.
