Happy Valentine's day activities

We had a great time with some Valentine's day activities this week. Stuart and I don't 'do' Valentine's day with any degree of flowers/chocolates/cards but I told Harry and Peter it is a nice time to tell people that you love them.

We started by making some cards for Harry's granny, nanna and aunties. Harry used marbling ink to marble some heart shapes for the front of the cards. Peter made huge amounts of mess with pink paint, tissue paper and glitter but had a great time! Harry also made some symmetrical heart prints by painting half of a heart and folding the paper over to print the other half. They looked pretty good when he had scattered some glitter over too.

We practised writing 'I love you' on a writing sheet and did a few more worksheets from activity village. These involved colouring the letters of the alphabet in the correct order, the multiples of 10 and the 2-times table in order to find a path for Cupid's arrow. I was very impressed at how easily Harry did these, obviously he is retaining some of the maths and english work we have been doing!

I had been to buy heart shaped biscuit cutters last week but found a heart shaped cake tin at special offer price so bought that instead. We made a heart shaped cake and decorated it. We also took some for Stuart at work today.
