Remembrance Day poppy craft

We finished our poppy wreath craft this morning, based on this post from No Time for Flash Cards. We had already painted the egg boxes red last week. The boys added a spot of black for the inside of the poppy.

I cut out the individual egg holes (this was harder than I expected!) and Peter glued them to the 'wreath' shape. We made this by painting a paper plate red and cutting out the middle.

Harry wrote the 'remember' strip for the middle. This looks really effective now it is finished. We have talked several times this week about why people wear poppies to remember the sacrifice of those who died in World War I. We went to town this morning to do a couple of jobs and we observed the 2 minute silence in one of the shops.
