Gymnastics

Harry returned to his gymnastics class after the summer holiday break yesterday and had a great first session back. The club, City of Newcastle Gymnastics Academy, has some very talented older children who train for up to 24 hours a week, but Harry just attends the recreational class for one hour. He likes watching the elite group somersaulting on the floor and flying upside down on the rings though!

They work on warm up and stretching for around 20 minutes before splitting into small groups and working on the equipment. Yesterday Harry was practising holding up his legs while hanging from the uneven bars and holding himself up moving along the parallel bars. Peter and I generally have a nice time (if he agrees to sit down!) while Harry is in the class as there are chairs and tables in the viewing area so I take stickers, paper, pens and books.
