Threading with Hama beads

We got out the maxi Hama beads today after the play success of the midi beads on Monday (these have the big benefit of being much easier to pick up from the floor!). I love these beads - they are such a great focused activity and we have spent over an hour with them today. The maxi beads are used in the same way as the smaller beads to make designs on peg boards (Peter can manage these ones and Harry still sometimes enjoys doing them too as they are easy for him).

Harry and Peter started by sorting colours into pots then we realised that they would fit onto a drinking straw so they started threading them. They also used some pipe cleaners to make bendy strings of beads.
