Cello, strawberry picking and water balloons

Harry had his last cello lesson of the term this morning. He will be taking part in an ensemble performance next week which we are looking forward to. He has now completed his first full year of The Sage foundation strings programme and has come on very well and enjoyed it. They are now reading music in lessons as well as using the Coloured Strings book. He has worked hard and I am really proud of his achievement. He will be continuing next year too. I like the programme at The Sage as there is an hour of group musicianship and ensemble as well as the half hour lesson, which is great for Harry as we are not a naturally musical family! It also gives him experience of working in a group.

The sun was shining when we left music so we headed off into Northumberland to pick some strawberries. We stopped first at the lovely Wheelbirks parlour, where the ice cream is made from the milk of their own Jersey cows.

Water balloons were a big hit in the garden this afternoon.

With the obligatory soaking for Stuart!
